~My Glossary~

Here is an explanation of a couple of terms I use in my journal entries.

SAW:  This is a word I use to indicate a vision.  What I am seeing in the spiritual realm.  This may be via an open vision as the spiritual picture is transposed over the natural.  Or, this may be a closed vision where I see the picture with my eyes closed and the message is displayed as a photograph or video clip if you will.

Dream: Nothing more than a vision that comes while we are sleeping.

“‘ And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
       That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
      Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
      Your young men shall see visions,
      Your old men shall dream dreams.”(Acts 2:17; Joel 2: 28)

“6 Then He said, “Hear now My words:
      If there is a prophet among you,
      I, the LORD, make Myself known to him in a vision;
 I speak to him in a dream.
 7 Not so with My servant Moses;
      He is faithful in all My house.
 8 I speak with him face to face,
      Even plainly, and not in dark sayings;
      And he sees the form of the LORD.
      Why then were you not afraid
      To speak against My servant Moses?” (Numbers 12:6-8)

“Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the Spirit of the Holy God is in you, and no secret troubles you, explain to me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its interpretation.“(Daniel 4:9)

“ I have also spoken by the prophets, And have multiplied visions;
  I have given symbols through the witness of the prophets.” (Hosea 12:10)

HEARD: This is a word  I use to describe what I hearing.  Most of the time this is audible with my physical ears and/or spiritual ears.  But, sometimes this does refer to that still small voice that all Christians hear.

“Now a word was secretly brought to me,
And my ear received a whisper of it.“(Job 4:12)

“Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light;
 and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.“(Matthew 10:27)

Parable:  In Strong’s Concordance a parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning.

If we were to have strolled along side Jesus as He ministered we would have clearly understand He spoke in parables in front of every crowd He drew…The evidence of this is splattered throughout the New Testament.  Because of such evidence, there should be no wonder that He still uses them to teach us today.

Strong’s Concordance:  G3850 Parable
a placing of one thing by the side of another; metaphor; an earthly story with a heavenly meaning

Rhema:  This word is Greek in nature and actually means: “Word” or  “What is said”

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;“(Ephesians 6:17)

This word, “Word” in Ephesians 6:17 corresponds to G4478 “Rhema” in Strong’s Concordance.

Strong’s Concordance:  G4487 Rhema
1) that which is or has been uttered by the living voice, thing spoken, word
a) any sound produced by the voice and having definite meaning
b) speech, discourse
1) what one has said
c) a series of words joined together into a sentence (a declaration of one's mind made in words)

3) a saying of any sort as a message, a narrative

4) subject matter of speech, thing spoken of
a) so far forth as it is a matter of narration

Quickened: This is a word, phrase, memory, song, parable, encounter, vision, and/or dream etc basically anything that the spirit of God has breathed life into to make it real to me.

 “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing:
 the words that I speak unto you,
 they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63-KJV)

~The Spirit quickens...Gives life~

“All the Lord's Words, no matter what form we hear them, must be quickened by His Holy Spirit. The Bible says, only what is quickened by His Spirit will give life. Quickened is an obscure Biblical word, but without it's power, our relationship with Him is limited to a dead language.  The literal Greek meaning of the word quicken is to "make alive, or give vitality." We can go through life reading words and looking at signs, but words are just words until they are quickened and we finally realize they apply to us. “

Dates and Times:  I want to issue a warning with this one.  We have to be careful here and not slip into the occult of reading dates and times as a determination of course for our lives.  That is NOT what the significance of dates and times are about.   For the Word says that “Everything has it’s time”  and that God appoints set times. In the NKJV Bible, the phrase “appointed time” appears in forty one verses. The most personal revelation of an “appointed time” can be found in Acts 17: 26-27.

“26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, 27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;“(Acts 17:26-27)

You see, you’re here and now was pre-appointed.  The very day and place that you live had already been determined.  This was done for a reason.  So, that you would seek the Lord and find Him.  The very fact that your reading this book is you [in your pre-appointed time to live] seeking to find the Lord [fulfilling of Acts 17: 26-27].  So, if the Lord has gone to the trouble to set the time for which you live and the boundaries of your dwelling don’t you think the Words He speaks to us are in due time as well? The key here is allowing the quickening power of the Holy Spirit to guide us into the revelations of our times.  You will understand this more later as your read through the journal.

“[ Everything Has Its Time ] To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:“(Ecclesiastes 3:1)

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.“(Ecclesiastes 3:11)

“Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”(Genesis 18:14)

“Then the LORD appointed a set time, saying, “Tomorrow the LORD will do this thing in the land.” (Exodus 9:5)

“But the woman conceived, and bore a son when the appointed time had come, of which Elisha had told her.“(2 Kings 4:17)

“And he said, “Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be.“(Daniel 8:19)

“In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a message was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar. The message was true, but the appointed time was long; and he understood the message, and had understanding of the vision.“(Daniel 10:1)

“And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time.“(Daniel 11:35)

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.“(Habakkuk 2:3)

“but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father.“
(Galatians 4:2)

Fill thy Cup:  This is a title I use to summarize what I believe the Lord is saying through his quickening of visions, dreams, encounters, etc.  It maybe a combination of verses, quickening, and a prophetic message.

 “1 The LORD is my shepherd;  I shall not want.
 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness. For His name’s sake.
         4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.  I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;  You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
  All the days of my life;  And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.” (Psalm 23:1-6)

When God left his glorious home in heaven to carry the weight of my sin, He gave me life and really if that was all He ever did...it would be enough!  However, God desires a relationship. He wants to walk with us, to talk with us., He wants to Sheppard us...to make us feel comfort...safety...stillness...refreshment.  He wants to leads us along the right path.  He wants us to KNOW that even though we may walk through the valleys of this life He is right there with us.  He continually goes above and beyond to ensure us of His abundant promises everyday as if all He promised in the His Word wasn't enough. Thus, my cup overflows. It is the extra that He gives.  As He "Fills thy Cup." the words that are quickened have greater meaning and a prophetic message unfolds.

~~My cup runs over...As I dwell in the House of The LORD.~
