[vision/quickening] 11/16/11

HEARD: I knew it. Gracious and Compassionate.
Quickened scripture: Jonah 4:5-10
"5 So Jonah went out of the city and sat on the east side of the city. There he made himself a shelter and sat under it in the shade, till he might see what would become of the city. 6 And the LORD God prepared a plant and made it come up over Jonah, that it might be shade for his head to deliver him from his misery. So Jonah was very grateful for the plant. 7 But as morning dawned the next day God prepared a worm, and it so damaged the plant that it withered. 8 And it happened, when the sun arose, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat on Jonah’s head, so that he grew faint. Then he wished death for himself, and said, “It is better for me to die than to live.”
9 Then God said to Jonah, "Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?"
And he said, "It is right for me to be angry, even to death!"
10 But the LORD said, “You have had pity on the plant for which you have not labored, nor made it grow, which came up in a night and perished in a night.11 And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left—and much livestock?”

I have become so disillusioned with large falling 'big" name ministries and have been discussing such falling leaders a lot lately. For the sheep need to beware of harmful shepherds . It truly grieves my spirit that so many "leaders" are being lead astray...and are preaching false or watered down Gospel. They have such a following...so many lives at steak. It's not about "their" ministry it's about people going to hell.
I believe this is the father's heart right now towards these ministries. He has grown them, lead them, cared for them and now so many can't tell their right hand from their left. But our God is a gracious, and compassionate God...We need to really pray and lift these people up before the throne. My desire is not for God to send lightening bolts to destroy them... No, my desire is God's desire that they would turn from their wicked ways and live... He has great concern over them!
My prayer:
Father, I thank you for so many who have labored through the years for you... I thank you that you are a compassionate God full of mercy and slow to anger. Father, right now I lift up all these ministries before your throne...Father, for their following is great.. many many many lives are at steak here. Father, send them warnings, severe warnings that they maybe fearful that they might turn back to you and multitude upon multitudes will be saved... Father convict them of their first love...Father open their eyes to the basics of your love and mercy again... Father I love you and ask for grace to stand firm, help me Lord to remain with open eyes and open ears before you... Father I pray for increased discernment for your children, all your children... Father that we might all see your ways and walk in them daily. Amen!
