I will Never Leave you... A living parable

Last night I told my 5 year that I was going to take a bath... I find that unless I let her know where I am and what I am doing she goes looking for me everywhere... So, to allieveate an stress on her  and on me when she out looking for me then I can't find her... I just let her know from the beginning where I am.. (smile)

So, I go into the bathroom and start running the bath water... and I hear from Keely (my 5 year old), "Mommy I want to help you."  Me, "No, Keely that 's okay...I can do it...finish watching your movie." Keely, "No, mommy I can help you...let me wash your hair..." Me, "No, Keely it's okay mommy just wants to soak in the tub for a while... I'll be okay.. you go play."   But, she doesn't leave...I could not talk her in anyway into leaving me alone and letting me just soak and relax in the tub... (smile). So, after a short bit of Keely asking to help me do everything... I finally just said, "Okay, that's enough... time to get out..."  I reached for the towel to get out of the tub and Keely said, "Mommy can I dry your feet."  I just laughed and knew that I wasn't gonna be able to talk her out of this...So, I simply said, "Sure!"  I then started noticing that my chest was hurting... burning... that's odd I thought... it feels like heart burn....

This morning, the same thing happened...almost a complete duplicate from the bath scene last night...  Now before last night she had never done this... She will usually say, "Okay, mommy...I'll be right here."

But this time...seeing the duplication...I thought there must be something to this... So, I said, "Okay God what are you trying to tell me?"  I was then quickened to how Jesus promises he will never leave us... even when we try so hard to run away from him He still is so faithful to be right by our side...I was then quickened to how God's heart hurts for his people...How when he tries so hard to reach us...to pull us to him and we reject him or push him away, His heart hurts...for He desires that none should parish...

Through Keely offering to dry my feet: I am quickened to how Jesus washed the feet of his disciples...and how we being like Jesus we should make ourselves servants to all... humbly reaching down to help our fellow brothers and sisters....

John 13:7-10 (NIV)

7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
9 “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”
10 Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)

8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Song of Solomon 8:6 (NIV)

6 Place me like a seal over your heart,
   like a seal on your arm;
for love is as strong as death,
its jealousy[a] unyielding as the grave.
It burns like blazing fire,
   like a mighty flame.[b
